Dear Mr. Ahern,

Would you have any of the Takers novels for sale?

Best Regards,
BK Terhune

I was reading “The Survivalist” Rides Again on DRTV and it mentioned that the series will be available again as an e-book down load. When will it be available and where?

Dear Mr. Ahern,

I would like to thank you for getting me into reading books for pleasure!
I bought my first-ever book at the tender age of 12 (I’m 35 now), having nothing to do during the school holidays and only having ever read books we had to at school. I chose The Survivalist #2 as I’ve always been interested in post-nuclear films and stories. Living in England, the series had vastly different covers and #2 was nicely colourful and caught my eye, (#1 had sold out!).
Needless to say, I was hooked and rushed out each week with my pocket money (allowence) to get the rest of the series as they came out.
Unfortunately, as is the way, the series became harder and harder to come by until, in the early 90′s, it disappeared from UK bookshops altogether. I managed to grab a couple of random titles from a bookshop in Orlando whilst on holiday and 2 others once the internet became readilly available. To this day, however, my collection is still incomplete, with #20 thru to the end missing (apart from #23–got that one in the end!). As you’ve stated elsewhere on here, the titles are going for ridiculous amounts online but I still cling to the hope that, one day, I’ll finally complete the collection of books that started my insatiable lust for apocalyptic fiction.
I now have over 300 end-of-the-world books, as well as over 150 DVDs, and my collection grows every week!

Anyway, thanks once again for inspiring my literary mind. I hope one day to be able to get one of my many manuscripts published into a novel and see it proudly sitting next to Rourke on my bookshelf!
(And JTR gets subtle nods in each of them!)

Ryan Fleming.

p.s. If I could ever ask one thing of you, it would be to release one last Rourke. He’s a great character and I’d love to see an end to his exploits, (unless there’s more books in the works…?)!

There’s a Yahoo group for “The Survivalist” at http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/survivalistjohnrourke.
Currently there’s not much activity but previous posts on the message-board may be of interest.

regards

hi there are you going to re-release the survivalist novels on ebook or paperback

Larry Klemens February 1, 2010 at 5:33 pm

Good evening Mr. Ahern,

I love you books and unfortunately I sold them all when I got married. I know at some point you discussed having a spring cleaning sale. Are you still going to have that? Will there be an email about it when the time comes?

Thanks very much,

Larry Klemens

I’m an avid reader and would like to know if and when you’re bringing back the survivalist series back? If not I would like to know where I can find a full set of the series?

Graham Robinson April 10, 2010 at 4:06 am

Dear Jerry
It seems that there are lots of people asking the same question. But I cannot find an answer anywhere.
I started reading the survivalist something like 30 years ago.But never managed to get the whole series.I keep searching but am not prepared to(or able to) pay the prices they are asking for the later books.I have managed to get hold of some as ebooks. But not the later ones. Are they available. And if so where.
Thank you for hours of pleasure when I started reading them on board ship in the royal navy. And again the 2 -3 times I have re-read them since.I just wish I could get to finish the story before I leave this planet.
Thank you for any help.
Graham

Well it’s June and we have still not heard of your spring cleaning sale! I do so want to know how the Survivalist series ended.
